MOVEMENTS: WHITE
Video work, 14’34’’
In the performance called Movements: White (2012), the first joint work of Sanja Latinović and Ranko Đanković, we are faced with the transportation of a couple of kilos of the modeling clay from one to the other end of the canvas wall.
The act of transportation is carried out by the synchronized movements of seven participants whose limbs are the only things visible on the white surface of the wall.
This kinetic installation is completely in the function of the transmission of the matter through which the problem of communication and the conveying of information is presented. Living in the epoch in which the most efficient systems for transferring information have been devised in the history of mankind, we are also the witnesses of great alienation and the lack of understanding among people. That is the reason why the process of the transportation of the matter, like the transmission of information where there are losses and hums, gives off the impression of being eroded, growing thinner and snapping. The transported part, the remnants, in its reduced quantity carries the symbolic potential of the suffered change.
